Apologies. I haven't been doing a very good job keeping my readers up to date lately.

But I have good reasons.

I'm a private person, but I'll confess here that my life has been experiencing a sea change over the last two years and that is culminating in me (and my boys and dogs) moving a couple of states away. That story may end up in another blog post when things finally settle down.

I've managed to stay on top of the schedule for release of the next book, for the most part. It's going to be a few weeks later than I intended. I originally planned to release Valence, Book 3 of Confluence mid-June to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the release of Fluency. But life gets in the way sometimes. My favorite editor had a baby, I'm moving to Pittsburgh and packing up my home. But we keep on rolling.

Expect VALENCE in early July.

There won't be preorders. They don't benefit me as an independent author the way they do traditionally published authors (in fact they are bad for my bottom line overall), so I don't do them.

If you want to be the first to know when Valence hits the metaphorical shelves on Amazon, put your email into the little bar at the top of any page on my website. I don't send email often, but when I do, it will be something you're gonna want to know about.

I'd like to also mention the recommended reading order for my two series. Both series are set in the same universe and the storylines intertwine.

Fluency (Confluence Book 1)
Remanence (Confluence Book 2)
The Druid Gene (Soon to be renamed: StarSeed, The Druid Gene Book 1)
Valence (Confluence Book 3)

What will I publish next? I'm plotting out two books right now. One is a Druid Gene Book and one is the 4th (and possibly final) Confluence book. As soon as that's all mapped out, I'll know which book will be coming next, probably in early 2018.

Thanks for the update, Jen. I was growing restless for Valence but I'll be patient, even if i AM an Aries! I like the rename of your Druid Gene book to "StarSeed, The Druid Gene Book 1." I imagine it will increase sales, also. People these days seem to love series novels. I think it's a great idea to indicate in the title that it IS a series, and what place the book holds in the series. Great job.

I admit I haven't read StarSeed yet. :::hangs head::: But your post here reminded me to go ahead and order it! That should tide me over well until the release of Valence.

I hope you and yours are well and happy. It's a strange and challenging world "out there" these days!

Write on!

Much love,
Zy

Thanks, Zy! I hope you enjoy the Druid Gene as much as I did writing it! Read on!

I began and finished reading all of your published books/stories in a couple of evening. I don't know if I slept. I introduced your work to a few of my friends, and they had similar issues with the whole, "should I sleep or read?" conundrum. I have been awaiting the release of Valence since December, when I first found your work. I am so very excited to read it! Can't wait!

Ummm Jen, it's already mid-July...

I hope your move went as smoothly as possible, but 31 years in the Air Force and 13 assignments around the world have taught me that relocating your household and family rarely proceeds without incident. Anyway, just wanted to point out that it's already mid-July; as in no longer "early July". Soon it will be late-July, and my reading skills may atrophy without something to read... Just saying...hint...hint... Seriously though, I do hope you're getting settled into your new digs and finding your new normal!

Hi Jen~

As are the others, I am anxiously awaiting 'Valence'. Patience is a virtue!

Quick question: Are you planning on expanding on 'The Grove'? I really liked the premise and would enjoy a furtherance of the plot.

Best,

Duffy

Duffy,

Hain appears in the novel The Druid Gene which is in the Confluence Universe. The storyline of The Druid Gene intertwines with the Confluence storyline.

Thoroughly enjoyed confluence books 1 & 2. But family comes first; and, writing sometimes just has to wait. Patiently looking forward to Valence being released. Your talent and dedication are very appreciated.
